How to Throw the Perfect New Years Eve Party

 In Decorations
Are you ready to ring in the new year?!
We are, but it’s sort of our thing to be prepared for the holidays.
A great New Years Eve party ushers out the old and rings in the new. It’s about new beginnings, old and new friends, and really kicking the next year off to a great start.
No pressure.
We kid! A great New Years party can be a big champagne filled extravaganza, or just some close friends or family watching fireworks.
We’re even fans of families celebrating New Year’s on east coast time on the west coast, so the kids don’t have meltdowns trying to make it to midnight. (That’s not a fun way to start off a new year!)
As your go-to pros in the party industry, we’ve got some great tips for you to create a truly memorable night, no matter how you choose to spend it.

How to Throw the Perfect New Years Eve Party

  1. Make it Sparkle

Nothing says New Years like silver and gold decorations!
Balloons, streamers, noisemakers, party hats, you name it. The more sparkles the years eve party,
  1. Match the tone of the party with great music

Either upbeat tunes or mellow blues, make sure to play music that really sets the tone for your party. Need ideas? Try this Spotify playlist. New Years Eve Party Bangers
  1. Play games

Midnight can feel like a long way away if your guests aren’t entertained.
High-energy, party favorite games like Catchphrase and Pictionary are always winners.
Another game idea, create cards with sentences like, “In 2018 I will eat more_________” , “2017 was the year that I_________”, “2018 will rock because__________”, “If I could use one word to describe 2017 it would be ___________”. Have your guests each fill one out anonymously, then at the end of the evening, read them out loud and have everyone try to guess whose answer is whose.
  1. Provide several beverage options

Yes, champagne is perfect for that midnight toast, but it’s a long night. Be sure to provide several non-alcoholic options as well. Make them fun so any designated drivers feel special too.

  1. Consider the lighting

If fireworks are part of your party, make it easy to dim the lights in your home so the display can be better seen and your guests aren’t left completely in the dark. Soft sparkle lights are perfect for this, and of course, if you still have your Christmas lights up, they work perfectly too!
  1. Prepare for Midnight!

Are your guests going outside? Make sure you allow time for people to change locations if they need to. Set a timer for at least 10 minutes before to start gathering people together.
Pass out noisemakers, sparklers, bubbles, confetti, party poppers, or whatever you want your guests to use to ring in the new year.
